发现学校机房换 Ubuntu 了
October 11, 2007 10:22 pm | In Tech哈哈哈，发现学校机房换 Ubuntu 了，该死的 Redhat 终于被请出去了，现在只有 Solaris 和 Ubuntu 了（UNIX Computing Environments @ Stanford）。说来我也算是从上个世纪开始用 Redhat 6，一直跟上来，Redhat 7.3 8.0 9.0，Fedora Core 2 3 4 5 6，现在用 Fedora 7。中间也用过 Debian、Mandrake（话说这玩意儿早就改名字了）、Gentoo、Knoppix，一直还是 Redhat 系最顺手。不过自从去年用上了 Ubuntu，我现在装新机器已经首选 Ubuntu 了。Ubuntu 整体感觉良好，推荐新手使用，推荐日常桌面使用，另外 Ubuntu 的光盘（免费邮寄）直接当 LiveCD 也很好用。
最想不明白的问题就是为什么 yum 比 apt-get 慢这么多……？还有上个月 Fedora 居然把 crontab 都搞坏了，而且好几天没人修理，真是…无语。不过话说回来，我自己在用的好几个服务器都还是 Redhat 系的，坏话也不多说了，损人品。

显然是 Gentoo 最顺手，强烈支持 Gentoo！

“搞没” inittab 的并不只是 Ubuntu，
Fedora 和 Debian 也用 Ubuntu 的 upstart 替换了老旧的 sysvinit，
Gentoo、SUSE 等也是替换掉了 sysvinit 的。
